Anthony Lee Winn (Deepcut Productions) was born on January 1st 1973 in Saigon, South Vietnam, the youngest son of an architect mother and an interpreter father. Having the good fortune to have a father who worked for the U.S. as an interpreter, he and his mother were evacuated from Saigon in 1975 and came to live in Southern California.

Anthony’s talent for drawing was noticed at a very young age and encouraged, especially by his mother and at age 7 he had earned a scholarship to an art school in Anaheim, California, where he was schooled in the use of charcoal, pastels, acrylics, and oil paints. Growing up under the influence of Spiderman and the like, often introduced by their creator Stan Lee himself, he became hooked on super heroes. To this day three of his top super heroes are mom, dad, and Stan Lee himslef.

Winn began drawing comics in high school and was pretty much self-taught with help from books like Stan Lee’s “How to draw the Marvel way” and, even today, uses pen and pencil for his drawings, although he does do some digital rendering as well. His art career began by doing pencil drawings for Image Comics before becoming an illustrator and freelance cartoon artist and even doing some stunt work from time to time. While Anthony was at Saban Animation, doing stunts for the Power Rangers among other things, he was referred to Stan Lee, his boyhood idol and super hero creator extraordinaire.

From 1999 thru the bursting of the dot com bubble in 2003, Winn held his dream job, working beside the master, Stan Lee, at Stan Lee Media where he helped to develop many of Stan’s concepts and work with a number of prestigious celebrities. Among Anthony Lee Winn’s other credits is as the director of a couple of short zombie flicks, a variety of freelance illustration and story board assignments, and even a stint at Mattel designing Harry Potter toys and later working in their New Media Department developing web content.

A key to Anthony’s newfound sense of purpose and direction, however, was his successful fight against cancer in 2004 which has helped him to put life into perspective, transcend negativity, learn to enjoy the variety and challenges of life, and has brought new focus to his career goals. “I enjoy working with the best in the field, want to keep developing intellectual property content, and have come to understand that one must be proactive and take the initiative in life to succeed.”

In 2005 Anthony’s association with his mentor Stan Lee was renewed; the “Lees” were back together at last. Currently they are developing “Stripperella” into a paperback comic book and rebranding her as the Las Vegas super heroine (What Spiderman is to New York… She is to Las Vegas, Nevada) with inevitable plans for a live action movie. As the head of Deepcut Productions, Anthony is carving his way with his own intellectual properties towards feature films, music videos, video games, graphic novels, and new media as well; Anthony Lee Winn is truly on track to make a name for himself.

Currently, Anthony has transcended into music video directing with prestigious female rock musicians Brody Dalle and Shirley Manson.
